Caddo Sheriff's deputies are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred on the evening of November 23 in south Caddo Parish, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. 

The accident took place shortly after 7:00 PM on the railroad tracks near the intersection of Preston Road and Keithville-Keatchie Road. Deputies reported that the engineer and conductor of a Union Pacific train noticed an individual on the tracks. The train activated its emergency system and attempted to stop, but was unable to do so in time, resulting in a fatal collision with the individual. The Caddo Fire District arrived at the scene and pronounced the individual deceased.

The crash is currently under investigation, and the victim's name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
