Home Alone Safety Class Helps Prepare Kids to Stay Safe During the Holidays
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering parents an opportunity to equip their children with critical safety skills by having them attend a Home Alone Safety Class on Wednesday, December 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Ave., Shreveport, LA 71118.
The one-day course includes hands-on learning activities, interactive games, and a showing of the Home Alone movie, all focused on helping children understand how to remain safe, calm, and responsible when at home. Children will learn how to make smart decisions if they encounter a gun and how to identify everyday household items that could be poisonous to themselves or loved ones.
Children need to bring a sack lunch. To register, contact Madonna Hoskins or Vernita Williams at (318) 698-7233 (SAFE) or by email at madonna.hoskins@caddosheriff.org or vernita.williams@caddosheriff.org. Children are still invited to attend without registering.
