It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of Captain Aaron Keith Cornelius early this morning. Captain Cornelius dedicated more than 26 years of his life to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, serving with honor, integrity, and compassion. Most recently, he was promoted to Captain over the Re-Entry and Work Release (TWP) programs, where his leadership and commitment made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Captain Cornelius was more than a colleague, he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of strength to those who had the privilege of working alongside him. His presence will be deeply missed, not only within our ranks but also among the many individuals and families he touched throughout his career.

As we grieve this sudden loss, we extend our heartfelt prayers to his family during this difficult time and ask the community to join us in honoring his memory and service. Captain Cornelius will be profoundly missed.

Captain Cornelius leaves behind a legacy of service and compassion that will forever remain part of the fabric of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
