Body Discovered Under Bridge in South Caddo Parish

On December 21, at approximately 3:15 PM, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a deceased individual found underneath a bridge by two fishermen on Ellerbe Road, near Gayle Red Bluff Road. 

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the presence of an adult individual. Caddo Parish Fire District 5 also responded to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. 

Currently, the cause and manner of death have not been determined. The incident is under investigation by Caddo Parish Sheriff's investigators in coordination with the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office, and the investigation remains active. 

The area surrounding the bridge is temporarily secured while investigators conduct a preliminary examination. No further details are available at this time.

***UPDATE***

After the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office examined the body, it was determined that the male victim died from injuries inflicted by another individual. Investigators from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office worked diligently to gather leads, eventually identifying 48-year-old Bradley Weidner from Shreveport, Louisiana, as a person of interest in the case. 

On December 22, shortly before 6:00 PM, detectives located Weidner at the Palamar Motel, located at 3975 Greenwood Road in Shreveport. After a brief standoff, he was taken into custody and transported to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Detective Office. There, Detective Jeremy Edward interviewed him. Following the interview, Weidner was charged with second-degree murder and illegal possession of a stolen firearm. He was then transported to the Caddo Correctional Center and booked on the aforementioned charges. 

The investigation is ongoing.
