On December 28, at approximately 12:38 p.m., deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 4200 block of Roy Road in response to a welfare concern.

The caller, the victim’s daughter, reported that she had not heard from her father for several days and was unable to contact him by phone. When deputies arrived, they knocked on the door, which was answered by the victim, a 63-year-old disabled male, who showed visible signs of trauma and had blood on his face. The victim appeared both distressed and relieved upon their arrival.

He informed the deputies that his son had been inside the residence and had physically abused him since Christmas Day. The son held him against his will and prevented him from seeking help by breaking his only phone. The victim described repeated assaults and stated that the suspect demanded access to his bank accounts. He also faced intimidation, with the suspect blocking exits while wielding a hammer and threatening to set the house on fire if the victim attempted to leave.

Deputies entered the residence and safely took the suspect, Johnathan Campbell, 38, into custody without incident.

Caddo Fire District #1 responded to provide medical assistance to the victim.

The investigation confirmed that the victim had endured multiple days of physical abuse, extortion, and threats to his life. Campbell was taken to the Caddo Correctional Center and booked on the following charges:

- Domestic Abuse Battery
- Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault
- False Imprisonment with a Dangerous Weapon
- Extortion

Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues. Anyone with further information related to this case is encouraged to contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
