Suspect Arrested in North Caddo Burglary
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office patrol deputies arrested a woman early Friday morning in connection with a burglary at a local business, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.
Just after 4:00 a.m. on January 9, CPSO patrol deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a place of business in the 8400 block of Belcher Oil City Road. Upon arrival, deputies secured the perimeter around the business.
Sgt. Matt Frizzell, along with K-9 Deputy Jacob Vaitkus and his K-9 partner Snoop, conducted a search of the building. During the search, deputies found a female suspect, later identified as Dana Brown, 44, hiding inside the business. Brown was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation revealed that Brown and an unidentified male accomplice were in the process of stealing a large amount of copper wire, welding materials, and other items from the business. Deputies also learned that the place of business had been burglarized earlier in the week on Monday night, January 5, 2026.
Further investigation determined that Brown and her accomplice arrived at the business on an ATV, which was later confirmed to have been stolen from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Brown was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things (IPST).
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are possible. If you have any information about this incident, please call the CPSO at 318-675-2170 or Caddo/Shreveport Crimestoppers at 318-673-7373.
