CPSO Urges Caution as Icy Roads Cause Multiple Vehicle Wrecks

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is currently responding to multiple vehicle accidents throughout the parish due to icy road conditions. Freezing rain and sleet have caused ice to form on roadways, bridges, and overpasses, creating extremely hazardous driving conditions.

Deputies report that several crashes have occurred as drivers lost control on the slick surfaces. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported at this time. However, motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution if travel is necessary.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office strongly advises residents to avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. Those who must be on the road should reduce their speed, increase their following distance, avoid sudden braking or sharp turns, and remain vigilant for icy patches—especially on elevated roadways.

Road conditions may continue to deteriorate as temperatures drop. Drivers are encouraged to monitor local weather updates and road advisories before traveling.

The Sheriff's Office will continue to patrol affected areas and respond to incidents as needed. Residents are asked to report hazardous conditions or emergencies by calling 911.

Public safety remains our top priority, and we appreciate the community's cooperation as we navigate these dangerous conditions.
