CPSO Advises Drivers of Continued Treacherous Road Conditions Following Severe Weather

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office informs residents that while the recent severe weather has passed, road conditions throughout the parish remain dangerous due to frigid temperatures.

Due to the storm's lasting effects—icy roads, debris, reduced visibility, and possible roadway damage—many areas remain unsafe for travel. Motorists are urged to stay home. If you must go out, please exercise extreme caution, reduce your speed, and allow extra time for your journey.

Drivers should be especially vigilant for downed trees, power lines, icy roads, and intersections where traffic signals may not be functioning properly. If you encounter a roadway that appears unsafe, do not attempt to drive through it.

The Sheriff's Office is monitoring conditions and working with local and state agencies to ensure public safety. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and to avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.

For emergencies, please call 911. For non-emergency issues related to storm damage, you can report to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office non-emergency number (318) 675-2170.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office appreciates the public's cooperation and patience as we navigate through this weather event.
