To the Citizens of Caddo Parish,

On behalf of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the residents of our parish for your cooperation, patience, and support throughout Winter Storm Fern.

During this challenging weather event, our community once again showed the strength and resilience that defines Caddo Parish. By staying off the roadways when conditions were dangerous, monitoring official updates, and sharing accurate information with friends and neighbors, you played a vital role in keeping our parish safe.

As Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, I am proud of the coordination that took place across our parish. Our team worked closely with the National Weather Service, DOTD, SWEPCO, and our local and state partners to track conditions, communicate important information, and prepare for rapidly changing weather. This collaboration ensured we were ready to respond whenever and wherever our community needed assistance.

I encourage all residents to visit caddoready.org to sign up for real-time alerts, weather updates, road conditions, and other emergency notifications that help keep you and your family informed and prepared.

Thank you for your cooperation, for looking out for one another, and for standing with us. It is an honor to serve you.

Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

Caddo Parish, Louisiana

Director, Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness
