Armed Suspect Arrested Following Early Morning Pursuit in Blanchard

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the Blanchard Police Department, responded to a disturbance call early in the morning on February 22, 2026.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., deputies and officers were dispatched to the Emerald Bay Loop area in Blanchard, LA after a woman reported that an armed man was outside her home, threatening to kill her and her family. The suspect fled the scene in a white sedan before law enforcement arrived.

Caddo Sheriff's Lt. Michael Gray later located the vehicle traveling on Louisiana Highway 1 near Scarpengo Road. Lt. Gray, along with Sgt. Justin Sundquist, initiated a felony traffic stop. However, the driver refused to stop and fled southbound on Highway 1, then entered Interstate 49 and continued into the Martin Luther King Drive neighborhood in Shreveport, LA.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a fence at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Linear Street.

Deputies and officers from the Shreveport Police Department quickly established a perimeter around the area. The Caddo Sheriff's Office Drone Team and Shreveport Police K-9 units conducted a coordinated search, locating the suspect hiding behind a residence in the 1900 block of Linear Street.

During the investigation, an AR-style pistol was recovered from the suspect's vehicle.

Jeno Levert Vantrez Crawford, 32, of Shreveport, was arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center. He has been booked on charges of aggravated flight from an officer and possession of a firearm by someone previously convicted of domestic abuse battery.

This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending as detectives continue to review evidence related to the initial threats reported.

Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office at (318) 675-2170 or submit tips anonymously through local Crime Stoppers.
