CPSO deputies investigate a fatality

This afternoon, patrol deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality and three individuals suffering life-threatening injuries, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

At approximately 12:19 p.m., patrol deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Louisiana Highway 1 in response to a collision involving a white four-door sedan and a dark-colored SUV. Preliminary information indicates that the SUV was traveling southbound while the sedan was heading northbound when the two vehicles collided. The investigation is still in its early stages, and deputies have not yet determined the cause of the crash.

Personnel from Caddo Fire District 1 responded to the scene and pronounced the driver of the white sedan deceased. One passenger from the sedan was airlifted to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, while a second passenger was transported by ground to the same facility. The SUV's sole occupant was also taken to Ochsner LSU Health. All three individuals sustained life-threatening injuries.

Deputies are still on the scene investigating the crash. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The occupant of the dark-colored SUV was pronounced deceased by medical staff at Ochsner LSU Health upon arrival.
