Caddo Sheriff's chaplain heads for Haiti

Local counselor and Caddo Sheriff's chaplain Durrell Tuberville will leave for Haiti tomorrow to assist with emergency debriefing and crisis intervention for emergency workers there.

Tuberville will make the two-week trip as a volunteer for Convoy of Hope, a nonprofit organization that feeds the hungry and provides pure drinking water to people in need across the United States and around the world.  Tuberville will be responsible for establishing the infrastructure needed to provide critical incident stress debriefing for emergency workers and others involved with Convoy of Hope.

Tuberville has served as an emergency debriefer since 1989. He helped coordinate the first debriefing team for the Caddo Sheriff's Office, Shreveport Police and Shreveport Fire departments and served with the teams from 1990-2009. He is trained by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and has been an ICISF trainer since 1990.

For more information or to reach Tuberville, call 686-0012.
