Operations for the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office’s new Domestic Violence Unit will begin on April 13, 2026, providing immediate support for victims. The unit will deliver services and protection to victims of domestic and gender-based violence throughout Caddo Parish.

The Domestic Violence Unit will temporarily operate out of the Criminal Investigation Division office, located at 1501 Corporate Drive, Shreveport, LA 71107. This location will serve as the initial hub for providing crisis intervention, safety planning, legal assistance, advocacy, and coordinated support services for victims seeking help.

“The establishment of this unit reflects our commitment to protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Domestic violence is a serious and deeply personal issue, and victims deserve immediate access to compassionate, coordinated, and professional support. This unit will ensure that help is available the moment it is needed,” said Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

The Domestic Violence Unit will work closely with community partners, legal service providers, and regional law enforcement agencies to ensure victims receive comprehensive, trauma-informed care. The unit is designed to expand over time with plans to transition into a permanent location as part of a broader vision to establish a Family Justice Center in Caddo Parish.
