CPSO to Host Family Communication & Youth Engagement Workshop
This change was made to avoid conflicting with the funeral arrangements for the eight children who tragically lost their lives in the mass shooting in Shreveport on April 19. The flyer has been changed to match the corrections.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office invites parents, mentors, and caregivers to attend an interactive and informative workshop focused on strengthening communication and relationships with adolescents.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our Community Relations and Crime Prevention Office, located at 1501 Corporate Drive, Shreveport, LA 71107.
This powerful and engaging session is designed to provide attendees with practical tools to understand adolescent behavior better, improve communication, and recognize the impact trauma can have on decision-making. Participants will also benefit from real-life insights and interactive activities designed to build stronger, healthier connections between adults and youth.
Parents, mentors, and caregivers are encouraged to attend individually or bring an adolescent. An adult must accompany all adolescents.
"This workshop is about giving families the tools they need to communicate more effectively and build stronger relationships," said Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. "By understanding behavior and the effects of trauma, we can help create safer, more supportive environments for our youth.”
