The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists of a traffic disruption following a crash involving an 18-wheeler on Interstate 49 northbound near Highway 530.

Deputies assigned to the night shift responded to the crash, which has resulted in the 18-wheeler completely blocking all northbound lanes of I-49 in the affected area. Emergency responders remain on scene, and cleanup efforts are currently underway.

At this time, northbound traffic is being diverted off Interstate 49 at LA 530 (Exit 228). Motorists may use the exit and immediately re-enter the interstate using the entrance ramp to continue northbound travel.

Cleanup operations are expected to continue until at least 8:00 a.m., though delays may extend beyond that time depending on conditions at the scene.

Motorists are urged to use caution in the area, follow all posted detours, and consider alternate routes if possible. The Sheriff’s Office appreciates the public’s patience as crews work to safely clear the roadway.
