On May 13, 2026, detectives with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Persons and Property Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Big Oaks Trail in Keithville as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple copper wire thefts reported throughout the area over the past several months, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

The investigation stemmed from numerous theft reports filed by AT&T, SWEPCO, Xfinity, Comcast, and Ternium USA. Combined losses associated with the thefts exceeded $15,000.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives discovered evidence and information linking Bailey Higdon, 30, to the thefts. Higdon was detained at the scene while detectives continued their investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Higdon was charged with three counts of Felony Theft. He was arrested and transported to the Caaddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the aforementioned charges.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be possible.
