The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second suspect in connection with two burglaries at a business on Belcher Oil City Road that occurred earlier this year.

On January 6, 2026, deputies responded to a report of a burglary at Durmon Welding on Belcher Oil City Road. A few days later, they were dispatched back to the same business after receiving another report of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, patrol deputies apprehended Dana Brown, a white female, at the scene. A white male suspect was seen fleeing the area before deputies could take him into custody. Brown was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on one count of burglary.

Following Brown’s arrest, Detective Douglas continued the investigation and gathered evidence that identified the second suspect as Mark Hope.

On May 12, 2026, investigators contacted Hope and obtained information linking him to both burglaries at Durmon Welding. During the investigation, detectives also discovered that Hope was in possession of a stolen ATV reported missing from Marion County.

Hope is facing two counts of simple burglary and one count of illegal possession of stolen property. At the time the additional charges were filed, he was already being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on unrelated charges.

Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. commended the ongoing investigative efforts that led to the identification and charging of the additional suspect. He stated, "Persistent investigative work and strong follow-up by our detectives continue to play an important role in holding offenders accountable."
