On May 20, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Patrol Deputy Sean Channell with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a vehicle on Boyter Lane, just outside Vivian. This vehicle was believed to be connected to several reported vehicle burglaries in the area.

The driver refused to pull over, leading deputies on a pursuit that continued into Marion County, Texas. Eventually, the suspect abandoned the vehicle on a county road and fled on foot into a wooded area. Deputies then requested assistance from the CPSO Drone Unit, K9 Unit, and the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Caddo Sheriff's K9 unit directed deputies to the residence of the vehicle's registered owner. After a brief investigation, deputies identified the suspect, who was subsequently detained by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office in cooperation with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant through the First Judicial District Court of Caddo Parish, charging the suspect with Aggravated Flight from an Officer. The Honorable Judge Chris Victory signed the warrant, setting the bond at $25,000.

Eddie Ray Hill, 66, was booked into the Marion County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Caddo Parish.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Marion County Sheriff's Office for their assistance and cooperation during the investigation and arrest.
