A new phone scam is targeting our community. Individuals have reported that scammers are posing as deputies, specifically a "Sergeant Patterson" from the Caddo Correctional Center. These scammers will claim that an inmate you know qualifies for a 30-day house arrest program and request a deposit for the monitoring device.

During these calls, the scammers will demand payment through indisputable methods such as gift cards, wire transfers, and peer-to-peer money transfer apps. It's important to remember and share that no one from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office will ever call you to request payment over the phone or through any of these means.

Stay vigilant to protect yourself from these scams. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and avoid making any payments or sharing personal information. Your safety is a priority.
