The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal incident involving a pedestrian and a train that occurred near S. Pine St. and Camp Rd, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. 

At approximately 4:20 PM, deputies responded to assist the Vivian Police Department with a report of a pedestrian struck by a train. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an unresponsive male at the edge of the railroad tracks. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene by Fire District 8 personnel.

The Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigation teams from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office are on scene conducting a thorough investigation. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

This incident is still under active investigation, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
