The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office invites families from across the parish to attend its Stars, Stripes & Safety Community Event on Tuesday, July 1, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sheriff's Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere while celebrating the nation's upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.

At the free community barbecue, families can enjoy interactive exhibits, learn important summer safety tips, and take part in patriotic crafts and coloring activities for children.

The event will also provide opportunities for residents to meet deputies and firefighters while enjoying music, line dancing, and family-friendly entertainment provided with a live DJ.
