CPSO Arrests Suspect in Courthouse Vandalism Cases
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection with two separate incidents of property damage at the Caddo Parish District Courthouse, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.
On March 11, 2026, an individual threw a large piece of concrete through one of the courthouse doors, shattering the glass. The estimated damage from this incident was approximately $1,000. Detectives reviewed surveillance footage from the incident, but the suspect could not be immediately identified.
A second incident occurred on June 27, 2026, when a suspect threw a brick at another courthouse door, causing additional damage. The suspect was quickly apprehended and identified as Samuel Parks, 35.
Following Parks' arrest, detectives reexamined surveillance footage from the March 11 incident and identified him as the individual responsible for the earlier vandalism.
Parks was already being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on charges related to the June 27 courthouse damage. Detectives subsequently obtained an additional warrant charging him with Simple Criminal Damage to Property for the March 11 incident.
The investigation was conducted by Detective Matthew Purgerson with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.
