The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has partnered with Simsi to launch a data-driven initiative aimed at preventing domestic violence through enhanced collaboration among law enforcement, government agencies, and community organizations.

This initiative will utilize Simsi's DICE™ (Data-Informed Community Engagement) framework, which identifies environmental factors linked to crime and victimization. By employing Risk Terrain Modeling (RTM) developed at Rutgers University, the framework helps agencies address risk factors before crimes occur.

"Protecting victims of domestic violence requires proactive collaboration," said Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. "This partnership helps us understand risk environments better and strengthens our community collaborations for public safety improvements."

Simsi's platform combines spatial risk analysis with project management tools, enabling agencies to coordinate strategies, allocate resources effectively, and enhance communication.

"Communities need practical solutions for complex issues like domestic violence," noted Dr. Joel Caplan from Simsi. "Our DICE framework allows the Sheriff's Office to analyze risk contexts and work together with community partners to implement targeted prevention strategies."

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office joins other agencies nationwide utilizing evidence-based technology for crime prevention and community safety.
