The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office will host a specialized training seminar, "Know More, Do More: Recognizing and Responding to Stalking," at the Sheriff's Safety Town, located at 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.

The training is designed for professionals who work with victims, investigate crimes, or respond to incidents involving stalking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Participants will gain a better understanding of the complex dynamics of stalking and learn practical strategies for victim safety and offender accountability.

The seminar will cover:

Recognizing stalking behaviors and patterns
Understanding the connection between stalking and other forms of victimization
Identifying technologies commonly misused by offenders
Learning the 14 key risk factors in stalking cases
Developing effective safety plans for victims
Applying investigative strategies to stalking cases

The agenda includes discussions on stalking prevalence, the intersection of stalking with domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking, risk assessment, safety planning, technology-facilitated stalking, and a case study highlighting investigative strategies.

"Stalking is a serious crime that is often misunderstood," said Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. "By providing this training, we are equipping law enforcement officers, victim advocates, and community partners with the knowledge and tools they need to recognize warning signs, better protect victims, and hold offenders accountable."
