The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is helping students prepare for a successful transition to college by hosting College Bound: Smart, Safe, Ready on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sheriff's Safety Town, located at 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport. The program is open to students who will be attending college this fall, as well as their parents and guardians. 

The free event will feature guest speakers and workshops focused on personal safety, awareness, and preparedness. Topics will include campus safety, situational awareness, defensive tactics familiarization, and tips for staying safe while living and learning in a new environment. 

Whether students are attending a college close to home or moving across the country, the information shared during the event will help prepare them for the upcoming academic year.
