The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office extends its heartfelt gratitude to the U.S. War Dog Memorial of Milford, Michigan, for helping us honor the lives and service of our fallen K-9 partners.

We offer a special thank you to President Clint Symons and Vice President Kristi Symons, who traveled the long distance from Michigan to Caddo Parish to personally set the headstones honoring two of our K-9s who recently passed away.

Their visit took on an even deeper meaning when, while they were here honoring our fallen K-9s, we received the heartbreaking news that another of our retired K-9s, Samos, had passed away.

The U.S. War Dog Memorial is dedicated to ensuring that military and law enforcement K-9s are never forgotten. The organization provides dignified memorials and engraved headstones at no cost to handlers or agencies, recognizing the loyalty, courage, and sacrifice of these remarkable working animals.

To Clint, Kristi, and everyone with the U.S. War Dog Memorial: thank you for traveling hundreds of miles to stand with our agency and honor our K-9 family. Your kindness and dedication mean more to our handlers and the entire Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office than words can adequately express.

Our K-9s dedicate their lives to protecting their handlers, our deputies, and the citizens of Caddo Parish. When their watch ends, they deserve to be remembered with the dignity and respect they earned through a lifetime of service.

Rest easy, Samos, and all of our fallen K-9 heroes. Your service, loyalty, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
