A man has been arrested on four counts of First-Degree Rape following an investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit (SVU), according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

Jermey Shane Gramm, 38, was taken into custody after investigators received a report regarding the alleged sexual abuse of a child. The victim, who is currently eight years old, was six years old at the time of the alleged offenses and was believed to be nonverbal during that period.

During therapy, the child learned to communicate verbally and later disclosed the alleged abuse to her counselor. The counselor subsequently reported the disclosure to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), resulting in assignment of the case to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit.

As part of the investigation, a forensic interview was conducted at the Gingerbread House Children's Advocacy Center in Shreveport. During this interview, the child provided details about the alleged abuse.

Following the investigation, Gramm was arrested and charged with four counts of First-Degree Rape. He was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the aforementioned charges.  

The investigation is ongoing.
