Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a 28-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon after responding to reports of a masked individual carrying a long gun in the 5700 block of South Lakeshore Drive, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

At approximately 2 p.m., deputies responded to the area after receiving reports of a man wearing a mask and walking along the roadway with what appeared to be a long gun. During the investigation, deputies determined that the incident might be connected to a domestic disturbance reported on August 25, 2026.

An arrest warrant for aggravated domestic abuse was signed by The Honorable Donald Hathaway Jr., Judge of the First Judicial District Court. The warrant orders John Perkins Jr., 28, to be held without bond pending further court proceedings. Perkins is facing charges of aggravated domestic abuse for allegedly shooting at his father with a pellet gun during a previous domestic incident.

Caddo Patrol deputies, along with members of the Sheriff's Office K-9 and Drone units, went to Perkins' residence to serve the felony arrest warrant earlier that afternoon. Deputies announced their presence and ordered Perkins to surrender, but he refused to come out. As a result, deputies made a forcible entry into the home and took Perkins into custody without further incident.

No deputies, residents, or other individuals were injured during the arrest. Perkins was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the warrant for Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
