Caddo Parish residents are invited to Safety Town for Community Week activities. In partnership with the Shreveport Fire Department, this is an opportunity for families and neighbors to learn about safety and preparedness while gaining access to vital resources.

The first Community Week will take place September 9 and 10. On Wednesday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., participants will receive information on fire safety and active shooter awareness. The following day, Thursday, September 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., programming will focus on suicide prevention and gun safety.

The second Community Week will take place September 28 through October 1, with a different safety topic presented each day:

● Monday: Adult & Infant CPR — 8:30–11:30 a.m. or 12–3 p.m.

● Tuesday: Fire Extinguisher Usage — 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

● Wednesday: Situational Awareness — 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

● Thursday: Phone & Internet Scams — 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

All educational sessions are free and will take place at Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Ave. in Shreveport. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is encouraged by calling 318-681-0869.
