Grandparents play an important role in keeping their families safe, and Sheriff’s Safety Town is helping equip them with information to do just that during a special event in recognition of Grandparents Day.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office will celebrate Grandparents Day on Friday, September 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue.

The event will focus on safety concerns grandparents may encounter while caring for their grandchildren. Topics will include internet and gaming safety, medication and household safety, and stranger awareness.

Registration is available by calling Sheriff’s Safety Town at 318-681-0869, but walk-ups are welcome.
