On September 1, 2026, a 17-year-old male was arrested following a fight at Booker T. Washington High School, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Deputy Geeter, who was assigned to the school, was alerted by school security personnel about a fight involving two students. 

After speaking with witnesses and investigating the incident, Deputy Geeter concluded that the 17-year-old Ze'marquies Z. Bryant allegedly instigated the altercation by striking another student in the face without consent.

Bryant was taken into custody and charged with Simple Battery and Disturbing the Peace and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the aforementioned charges. 

Bryant is not enrolled at Booker T. Washington High School and was at the school with his stepfather to pick up a relative at the time of the incident. 

There were no reported injuries requiring emergency medical treatment.
