CPSO Concludes Operation Safe Passage
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has completed a one-day operation called Safe Passage, which aims to enhance proactive patrol visibility, address traffic violations, and discourage unsafe driving behaviors.
During this operation, deputies conducted high-visibility patrols and targeted traffic enforcement to promote safer roadways and tackle public safety concerns.
Operation Safe Passage resulted in 65 traffic stops, leading to 31 citations and 29 warnings. Additionally, the operation resulted in five arrests, including one felony arrest and four misdemeanor/summons arrests.
“Operations like Safe Passage allow our deputies to take a proactive approach to keeping our roadways and communities safe,” stated Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. “The goal is not simply enforcement; it is to increase visibility, encourage responsible driving, and help prevent dangerous behavior before it leads to a serious crash or other tragedies.”

The increased law enforcement presence enabled deputies to identify and address traffic violations while ensuring visibility throughout the operational area. The results will also aid the Sheriff's Office in evaluating future targeted traffic enforcement efforts and crafting effective deployment strategies.
