The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office will give young people an opportunity to explore careers in law enforcement during the Sheriff’s Next Gen Law Enforcement Academy Camp this fall break.

The camp will be held October 5 - 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue. The program is open to youth ages 8 - 17.

Kids will take part in hands-on activities designed to introduce them to different areas of law enforcement. Training and demonstrations will include advanced forensics, criminal investigations, drone operations, land navigation, defensive tactics, and firearms safety.

The academy is designed to provide youth with real-world experiences while giving them an inside look at the skills and responsibilities involved in law enforcement.
