A man from Caddo Parish was arrested following an investigation into a domestic violence incident involving his former girlfriend, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. 

William Marble, 40, who resides on the 3600 block of Gorman Road, was taken into custody after deputies looked into allegations that he assaulted his former live-in girlfriend during a domestic dispute. 

The investigation revealed that the victim had barricaded herself inside a bedroom when Marble partially forced his way through the bedroom door. He allegedly brandished a knife and a pair of scissors at the victim through an opening in the damaged door, making statements that showed he did not care about either of their lives.

Deputies also discovered that Marble allegedly strangled the victim to the point where she nearly lost consciousness during a separate incident the previous night. The victim sustained minor injuries from that assault.

Investigators determined that Marble was already prohibited from contacting the victim under an existing protective order. This order stemmed from a 2025 conviction involving the same victim for domestic abuse battery with strangulation.

Deputy Lauren George of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol arrested Marble and booked him into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of second-offense domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse battery with strangulation, domestic aggravated assault, and violation of a protective order relating to a crime of violence.

Investigators are still reviewing additional aspects of the investigation, and further charges may be considered as it continues.
