Suspect Arrested Following Threat Against Booker T. Washington High School
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect following an investigation into a threatening phone call made to Booker T. Washington High School late last week, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.
On October 15, 2026, the school's Resource Officer, Deputy Daniels, was alerted that a school secretary had received a threatening phone call. As a precaution, the school briefly went into lockdown, and several deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office responded to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.
Deputy Daniels notified the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, and Detective Edward was assigned to the case.
Through investigative efforts, Detective Edward identified the suspect as 17-year-old Kanarius Anderson, a former student of Booker T. Washington School. Investigators discovered that Anderson was currently residing in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.
Based on the evidence collected during the investigation, Detective Edward obtained an arrest warrant for Anderson on a charge of terrorizing.
On October 19, 2026, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies had located Anderson and taken him into custody on the outstanding warrant.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office takes all threats against schools seriously and remains committed to protecting students, educators, and school personnel. The Sheriff's Office appreciates the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office's support in successfully resolving this investigation.
