Sheriff Steve Prator announced today that applications are being accepted for this summer’s Caddo Sheriff's Camp.

The overnight camp will be held June 13-16 at the Garland Scout Ranch near Stonewall. Caddo Parish boys ages 10 to 13 from at-riskcommunities are eligible to attend the camp, which is conducted by the Caddo Sheriff's Office and Boy Scouts of America, Norwela Council.

The purpose of the camp is to recognize at-risk boys for their good behavior and academic achievements and to introduce them to the scouting program. Transportation is provided, and funding is made possible through citizen donations.

Participants learn the basics of scouting, participate in leadership development, and outdoor activities like swimming, archery, rifle shooting and crafts.
