Teen athlete jailed for battery

High school star athlete T.K. Fleming was arrested on Friday for striking another teen, which caused the victim to suffer a severe concussion.

Fleming, 18, of Benton, is currently being held in the Caddo Correctional Center after a second-degree battery arrest by Sheriff's Detective Dorothy Brooks. His bond has been set at $75,000.

The 16-year-old victim was randomly attacked by Fleming during a party April 10 in a field off Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Witnesses said Fleming showed up at the party looking to fight someone else, but when that person wasn't there, he randomly approached the 16 year old, hit him in the mouth, knocked him down, and kicked him several times in the head. Fleming and the 16 year old did not know each other.

After the attack, the victim left the party with a friend and went home. He was taken to the hospital the following day, where he was told he had a severe concussion.
