The suspect in a Sunday night shooting on North Pines in Shreveport turned himself in to Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies on Thursday.

Reginald Leubo, 18, of 1244 North Pines Drive, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for aggravated battery.

Leubo is accused of shooting his 20-year-old neighbor, Pereto Jefferson, in the leg during an altercation between the two men.

Jefferson told detectives he had just left a friend's and was walking down a neighborhood trail when Leubo approached him and an argument ensued. He said Leubo produced a weapon and shot him in the leg as Jefferson tried to leave.

Jefferson ran to his house at 1257 North Pine, where medics were summoned. He was transported to LSU Health Sciences Center for treatment. Leubo fled the scene on foot but surrendered Thursday on an arrest warrant obtained by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Charles Bradford.
