Man arrested for stealing ton of metal
Caddo Sheriff's detectives arrested a Shreveport man and charged him with felony theft for stealing over a ton of metal.
Eddie Jones, 57, of 1740 DeSoto Street, is accused of taking stainless steel, brass, and copper from River City Iron, where he was employed, and selling it at another scrap iron business, Caddo Iron. Jones sold 2,224 pounds of metal on five different occasions for a total of $1,340.
Jones was arrested at his residence by Caddo Detective Andy Scoggins and was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a warrant. His bond is $25,000.
