CPSO detectives arrest man for possessing child pornography

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announced the arrest of a Shreveport man for possessing child pornography.

Prator said sheriff's detectives executed a search warrant this morning at 4345 McKneely in Shreveport and recovered thousands of images and videos involving child pornography. A resident of the home, Jeffery L. Payne, 46, was taken into custody.

Detective Robert Greer said the Sheriff's Office began investigating Payne after a tip was placed to the cyber tip line of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

During today's search, detectives seized five computers, along with numerous hard drives, flash drives, disks, and other equipment. An on-scene investigation revealed thousands of images involving child pornography that were found on a computer in Payne's bedroom. The Sheriff's Office plans to conduct a forensic exam of the other computer evidence later in the investigation.

Payne was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on four counts of possessing child pornography.

Agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement assisted with the execution of the search warrant.
