Caddo SO investigates Vivian shooting

A Bossier City man is in the hospital today after being shot multiple times during an altercation at a Vivian apartment.

Caleb Rhodes, 19, was shot at least two times in the leg and once in the abdomen. He is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at LSUHSC.

Deputies were called to Monterrey Hills Apartments around 3:30 a.m. after Rhodes was shot while visiting a friend’s apartment. Rhodes let himself inside and was confronted by two men who were already visiting there. The three argued and a fight ensued. The woman who leases the apartment urged Rhodes to leave to diffuse the situation, but he immediately returned after hearing more scuffling inside and fearing for the woman’s safety. Rhodes fought with the men again, and one of the men retrieved a gun, shooting Rhodes multiple times.

The suspects fled, and Rhodes drove himself to an Oil City convenience store where an ambulance was called to take him to the hospital.

The case remains under investigation by Det. Jason Morgan of the Caddo Sheriff’s Office.
