Vivian shooter arrested

The man wanted in connection with a shooting at a Vivian apartment complex on Tuesday was arrested overnight in Shreveport, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Jamario Cortez Norman, 20, of Shreveport, was arrested by Shreveport Police for a traffic violation in the 4000 block of Crosby. Norman initially gave a false name to Officer Stephen Desselle but the officer determined that he was Jamario Norman and had outstanding warrants.

Norman was booked into the Shreveport City Jail where a hold was placed on him for a warrant obtained by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Jason Morgan. Norman will eventually be transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center where he will be booked on the Caddo warrant for the attempted second-degree murder of Caleb Rhodes of Bossier City and the simple battery of the female who Rhodes was visiting at the apartment.

Rhodes was shot at least three times in the leg and abdomen after he went to the Monterrey Hills Apartments in Vivian to visit a friend and became involved in a fight with two men who were already there.
