Traffic stop leads to burglary arrests

A traffic stop by a Caddo Parish patrol deputy Tuesday evening led to the arrests of four people in connection with a recent burglary and the recovery of stolen property.

Around 5 p.m., Deputy Jessica Benevage saw a suspicious vehicle swerve into oncoming traffic on North Lakeshore Drive. After Benevage stopped the driver, assisting deputy Pam Byers identified stolen audio equipment taken from a burglary on Greywood Drive in March which was in the driver's possession. Upon further investigation, deputies found more stolen property at a residence in the 600 block of Blanchard Mobile Villa.

Arrested were (the driver) Keith Davis, 17, of the 5900 block of Lakeshore in Shreveport, for illegal possession of stolen things; Sammy Gingles, 17, of the 8100 block of Village Fair in Shreveport, for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling; Crystal Flowers, 34, of the 600 block of Blanchard Mobile Villa in Shreveport, for illegal possession of stolen things; and a 16-year-old juvenile for simple burglary.

Deputies said Gingles and the juvenile broke into the Greywood Drive home and stole a home theater system and other items because a resident there had recently broken up with the girl. Some of the stolen items were given away, some were sold by associates of the burglars, and others were thown in a pond
