Man leads officers on chase to jail

Bobby Parks had been on the lam for nearly two years but when his day of reckoning finally came he couldn’t get to the jail fast enough.

Parks was wanted on two warrants obtained by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Frank Edmondson. The first warrant was signed by a judge in August 2010. Shreveport Police spotted Parks today and attempted to take him into custody on the warrants. Parks fled and led authorities on a chase to the Caddo Correctional Center where he abandoned his vehicle in the parking lot and ran through the main lobby into an administrative/office area reserved for deputies before being taken into custody by Caddo Deputy Sonja Nunnery and SPD officers.

Parks, 40, of Shreveport, was taken back to the Shreveport City Jail where he was booked for flight and as a fugitive on the warrants. He is expected to be transferred back to CCC later today.

He faces three theft charges on the two warrants for failing to pay several area businesses for auto repair services. The total loss from the thefts was $8,748.

Edmondson said Parks will likely face two more theft charges for purchasing $2,600 worth of tires with a check from a closed account and for failing to provide tires to a person who paid him $340.
