A Shreveport teenager was arrested today for destroying the interiors of two vacant homes on Teal Glen in Mooringsport.

Jesse Taylor Ayers, 19, of the 1200 block of Captain Shreve, was booked into Caddo Correctional Center after turning himself in to Det. Michael Price at the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Price said Ayers entered two different residences on two different occasions and committed significant damage to the interior of both properties.

On Saturday, February 16, a man who oversees a property located at 7880 Teal Glen reported that someone had torn the interior doors off the door frames, knocked several holes in the walls, torn down the ceiling fans, broke one of the toilets, and broke a double-pane shower glass door. The damage was estimated at $7,500.

The following day, a woman reported that someone entered her vacant residence located at 7840 Teal Glen and broke out all of the windows, damaged the walls, fixtures, and counters, and flipped over the refrigerator. The damage estimate was $15,000 to $20,000.

Price investigated the case and developed Ayers as a suspect. As a result of the investigation, Ayers turned himself in and was booked on two counts of property damage.

The investigation is continuing.
