Caddo Correctional Center The Caddo Correctional Center is a full service jail rated at a capacity of 1070 beds. Designed to successfully manage large number of inmates with a minimum of personnel, the Caddo Correctional Center is the largest jail in the Ark-La-Tex and the only "direct supervision" facility in the State of Louisiana. The jail is under the direction of Commander John Sells. Detention Bureau Mission Statement The purpose of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Detention Bureau is to provide the highest degree of security for the citizens of Caddo Parish, Detention Bureau staff and inmates, in the most cost-efficient and effective manner possible and to maintain the trust and respect of those we serve. The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office encourages the professionalism of Detention Bureau personnel through training, continuing education and physical fitness. Through the use of video arraignment, alternatives to incarceration, and the housing of pre-trial and sentenced inmates, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Detention Bureau supports and enhances the Caddo Parish Criminal Justice System. Using the principles of Direct Supervision, the Detention Bureau provides for the basic human needs of the inmate population. In addition, programs and services are offered to provide inmates the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to become productive members of the community. Through the implementation of this Mission Statement, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Detention Bureau is committed to the preservation of human rights as prescribed by the Constitution of the United States, the requirements of the State of Louisiana and accepted national standards.
