Sheriff’s Office to host National Night Out block parties

Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies will host National Night Out block parties at the Patrol Division substations in Keithville and Oil City Tuesday. The activities at the substations will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The evening of fun, food and fellowship will give Caddo Parish citizens an opportunity to meet with their neighbors and the deputies who patrol their neighborhoods. In addition, Caddo Parish Sheriff Don Hathaway’s special units will have displays and conduct demonstrations. Special units include Search and Rescue, Hazardous Material and K-9.

Local businesses that support the Sheriff’s Office and its continuing policy of Community Oriented Policing have donated hot dogs and cold drinks for everyone attending and door prizes that will be given away throughout the evening.

South Patrol Sector Commander Lt. John Fourcade and substation Coordinator Debbie Haynie will host the block party at the Keithville facility. It is located at the intersection of Mansfield and Stagecoach Roads.

The North Patrol Sector block party will be hosted by Sector Commander Lt. Major Fant and substation Coordinator Kelly Middleton at the Oil City facility. It is located at the entrance to Earl Williamson Park on La. 1 at the south edge of Oil City.

Sheriff Hathaway and the sector commanders invite Caddo Parish citizens to join neighbors and deputies at either location to give crime a "going away party" on Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
