Sheriff’s narcotics agents arrest three on variety of charges
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s narcotics agents closed a month-long investigation today when they arrested three Shreveport residents on drug, firearm and other charges.
At about 4:10 p.m. today, the agents executed search and arrest warrants at 2745 Vivian Street and seized about 5.5 ounces of marijuana valued at about $600, a loaded, stolen 12-gauge shotgun and a variety of drug paraphernalia. The agents arrested Melvin Johnson, Jr., 22, and Crystal Powell, 20, both of 2754 Vivian Street, and Debra Johnson, 24, of 5337 Alto Vista.
The agents booked all three at the Caddo Correctional Center at about 7:15 p.m. and charged all three with illegal carrying of weapons during a drug transaction and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Melvin Johnson was also charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of stolen things and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Debra Johnson was also charged with illegal possession of stolen things. There was also an outstanding warrant for Powell for possession of marijuana.
