Deputies investigating discovery of human remains

Deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s and the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Offices are investigating the discovery of human remains deep in a wooded area north of the 7500 block of Jefferson Paige Road.

Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Duncan, head of the Criminal Investigations unit, said two Shreveport men were scouting the area for prospective hunting sites when they found what Deputy Coroner Clay Stewart identified as human bones. Duncan said a systematic search of the area would begin at daybreak and would be conducted by Sheriff’s identification technicians and Coroner’s investigators with training for such operations.
