Family argument sends one brother to hospital, another to jail
A domestic argument early Sunday sent one South Caddo Parish man to the hospital with gunshot wounds and his brother to jail charged with attempted second degree murder.
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Investigator James Long said that at about 2 a.m. Sunday, Jimmy Lee Pennywell, 60, of 10140 Norris Ferry Road, shot his brother Nathaniel Pennywell, 55, of 10154 Norris Ferry Road, three times after they argued over a family matter.
Long said Nathaniel Pennywell apparently threw several pots and pans at his brother before Jimmy Lee Pennywell shot Nathaniel Pennywell three times, once each in the right upper arm, left leg and lower abdomen. Nathaniel Pennywell was airlifted by Life Air Rescue Helicopter to LSU Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition at 6:30 a.m. following surgery.
Long said Jimmy Lee Pennywell is in custody and will be booked at the Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of attempted second degree murder.
